Many humans will get their dog highly aroused before and during the leashing process. ⁣ ⁣ Repeating this process over and over, it will build up to a strong association of leashing = go nuts.⁣ ⁣ In other words, we practiced leashing = craziness with our dog.⁣ ⁣ If you want your dog to go crazy when you pick up the leash, feel free to do so.⁣ ⁣ I'm not telling you what to do.⁣ ⁣ I just wouldn't expect them to calmly follow you on the walk after creating an association that leashing = go crazy. ⁣
