2 new babies just checked into The Turtle Hospital! A pipped loggerhead hatchling and a fresh hatchling were rescued from a nest inventory in the lower Keys this morning. Both are resting well in an incubator 🐣🐢❤️‍🩹! Please send prayers and healing energies for these precious little ones. A huge shout out to the folks that monitor sea turtle nests in the Florida Keys and through the state of Florida 🌟🐢❤️🙌! 51 babies!! These precious loggerhead hatchlings were disoriented last night when they followed the artificial lighting at a condominium rather than the natural light of the night sky to the ocean. Some live photos of the Loggerhead hatchlings that have been coming in over the past week! 🐢🐢 Most of them came in from nest evaluations in the Middle Keys and the one was found in an Upper Keys swimming pool. 🌴 72 hours after a nest hatches, Save a Turtle does a nest evaluation to determine how many eggs hatched. It’s nesting season here in the Florida Keys! 🌴 We have been receiving Loggerhead hatchlings, and new Sea Turtle babies over the past two weeks. When a Sea Turtle hatchling is admitted to The Turtle Hospital, it receives a physical exam, is weighed, and given fluid treatment subcutaneously based on its weight, the eyes are then flushed to remove any sand that may still be there from the beach, and after all of that it gets a swim test. ❤️‍🩹 The baby sea turtles are placed in hospital tanks wit

15 miles offshore of the Florida Keys in the Gulf Stream current, 61 baby sea turtles found their home in lush patches of sargassum weed.
