On October 15, 2023, Minecraft Live unveiled the next major update coming to the game. Although the update doesn't have an official name just yet, Mojang has given players plenty to be excited about.

We've had Steve and Alex as the game's main characters or mascots for a long time, but that will change as Mojang plans to add more default characters. Seven new characters are coming, to be exact.
